Media Advisory: SAHRC to launch its Investigative Report into the Systemic Challenges relating to the Enyobeni Tragedy

In response to the tragic events at Enyobeni Tavern in 2022, the South African Human Rights Commission's (SAHRC) Eastern Cape Provincial Office (ECPO) conducted a thorough investigation into the systemic challenges associated with this tragedy.

This report, and in line with the SAHRC’s mandate aims to explore the systemic challenges and human rights concerns that may have played a role in the tragic occurrence. Against the backdrop of ongoing developments regarding the inquest and other remedies sought, the SAHRC will release its report on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

The launch is scheduled to take place as follows:
