Media Alert: SAHRC Free State Provincial Office launches Child Friendly Campaign Material

Attention: Editors and Reporters

06 December 2017

The South Africa Human Rights Commission, Free State Provincial Office, will launch the Child Friendly Campaign Material.
The Child Friendly Campaign Material is based on the Commission’s Child Friendly Complaints Handling Procedure (CFCHP). The Campaign material comprises of fact sheet, poster, colouring book and other related material for children. The Commission’s CFCHP provides a guide that informs children’s complaints procedure. The complaints system is important for children to ensure respect, promotion and protection of their rights.

The key objectives of the Child Friendly Campaign are: to promote the rights of children and sensitise role players on the rights of children; raise awareness among children about their rights and encourage their participation in matters that affect them; and empower children with information to enable them to identify human rights violations and report these to the Commission.

The launch is scheduled for 07 December 2017, 09:00 – 12:00, Human Rights Dieketseng Primary School Hall, Virginia.
