The South African Human Rights Commission’s Mpumalanga Provincial Office will be commemorating the International World Aids Day, in a form of a dialogue, at Nkomazi Local Municipality. The commemoration is hosted under the theme: “Zero Discrimination against People Living with HIV/AIDS.”
The purpose of the commemoration is to bring together experts to spread knowledge about the pandemic as well as to ensure protection of human rights of people living with the pandemic. The commemoration is also aimed at encouraging individuals and communities to have non-discriminatory and non-judgemental access to adequate HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and tuberculosis (TB) prevention, treatment, care and support.
The Commission embarks on this campaign to raise consciousness about HIV/AIDS, break down barriers of stigma and unfair discrimination and give hope to the new generation.
The commemoration is scheduled to take place as follows:
