Media Invite: SAHRC Western Cape provincial office to host a Human Rights Day commemoration with learners and educators

The South African Human Rights Commission, Western Cape provincial office will commemorate Human Right Day by hosting a program with learners and educators from schools in and around Cape Town. The provincial office, working in collaboration, with other Institutions supporting democracy, will be sharing with these learners, information under the topic: RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHILDREN, IN A FIGHT AGAINST CRIME AND GANGSTERISM”.

The Western Cape provincial office has noted the growing trend of involving children at primary and high school levels as recruits for purposes of being in crime and drug related activities. Accordingly, the provincial office decided to commemorate this day by inviting the schools to our offices for a session on the aforesaid background to educate them on their rights and responsibilities in relation to crime and gang related activities.
