The South Africa Human Rights Commission, Gauteng Provincial Office, will be hosting policy brief discussion on “Access to Health Care for Migrants in South Africa” on 28 March 2018.
South Africa has an extensive history of migration and host a considerable number of migrants due to its focal point of labour migration in Southern Africa. The growth in global migration has given rise to the need to pay attention to health dimension of migration. Further, there is a need to interrogate the current public and official discourse surrounding migrants’ access to health care in South Africa.
The purpose of the dialogue is to engage with key stakeholders on pertinent issues central to the thematic discussion paper on access to health care for migrants in South Africa.
