MEDIA STATEMENT: MEC of Health, KwaZulu-Natal, Hon. Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, to Appear before SAHRC in Subpoena hearing on Oncology Crisis

 The MEC of Health for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Hon. Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, will appear before the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC, the Commission) at a hearing on the oncology crisis in KZN. The Hearing is scheduled for 14 May 2018 at 10h00 at the Commission’s Head office in Braamfontein.

The Subpoena Hearing forms part of the SAHRC’s investigation into the oncology crisis in KZN which commenced in In February 2016 .  The Commission’s investigation is into alleged violations of the rights of cancer patients to have access to healthcare services at Addington Hospital and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital (IALCH) in the KwaZulu-Natal Province (Province).
