Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Office hosts Human Rights Awareness roadshows

On 17 – 19 July 2018, the South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) Mpumalanga Provincial Office will be hosting human rights awareness roadshows in three areas of the province, namely: Mayflower, Driekoppies and Dludluma Trusts. The roadshows are centred on the theme: “Strengthening Human Rights Awareness in Rural Areas”.

The roadshows are scheduled to take place as follows:

The roadshows shall be a platform to intensify awareness on pertinent issues relating to basic human rights such as access to justice and information. The events are also aimed at educating communities on the Commission’s role and mandate as well as popularizing its child friendly complaints handling procedures. This shall be an opportunity for the Commission to increase its visibility by directly interacting with members of communities as well as invite them to register complaints and make enquiries relating to human rights violations.
