The South Africa Human Rights Commission, Gauteng Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) will host a panel discussion on 15 August 2018. The theme of the discussion is ‘Blesser culture at tertiary institutions, blesser or curser’

The month of August provides platforms to celebrate the great strides achieved since the dawn of democracy to improve the status of women. Further, it provides an opportunity to strengthen the fight against the various human rights violation that women currently face. Therefore, developing interventions that aim to educate is fundamental to ensure that survivors acquire the relevant knowledge to prevent and promote gender equality.
The key objectives of the discussion is to raise human rights awareness and issues relating to gender based violence; explore issues that affect women; promote debate and discussion on topical issues; promote and protect freedom of expression and association.
