Media Invite: SAHRC Free State provincial office to host Information Session on Childrens Rights and Responsibilities in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality

On the 25-27 September 2018, the South African Human Rights Commission will host information sessions on the Child Rights and Responsibilities in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality.

These information sessions are expected to serve as a platform to amplify awareness on pertinent issues relating to children’s rights and responsibilities, access to education, and the Commission’s child friendly complaints handling procedure and access to information. The information sessions are centered on the theme ‘my rights and my responsibilities’.

The information sessions are an opportunity for the Commission to directly interact with the children, to also address the increasing levels of violence in schools and to increase the Commission’s visibility, as well as promote its mandate. The information sessions will be conducted at schools. Information and promotional material will be disseminated.
