The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) Gauteng Provincial Office in collaboration with the Network or African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI), will host a National Consultation on the African Commission Principles on Decriminalisation of Petty Offences in Africa.

The aim of the consultation is to engage with state and non-state actors such as the judiciary, law enforcement and civil society on the principles and the human rights imperatives of finding alternatives to arrest and detention for petty offences.

In light of this, you are invited to participate in this important consultation as per details below.
