The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) will convene the second session of the inquiry into allegations of approximately 150 megalitres of raw sewage spilling into the Vaal River daily.
The inquiry started on 25 September 2018 following a site inspection of the Vaal River where, on the face of it, the Commission observed a violation of the rights to access to clean water, clean environment and human dignity. The purpose of this inquiry is to test the veracity of the above allegations.
The second session of the Inquiry, will take place as follows:
