Media Advisory: SAHRC releases it’s 2017/2017 Trends Analysis Report

The South African Human Rights Commission (Commission or SAHRC) will be releasing its annual report on trends in human rights violations in South Africa, the Trends Analysis Report for the financial year 2016/2017 on the 10thDecember 2018, at its head office at Braampark, Forum Three, 33 Hoofd Street, Braamfontein.

 The 2016/2017 Annual TAR provides an analysis of trends and findings in human rights violations in South Africa over the past five years.  The TAR 2016/2017 further provides:

a national “snapshot” of complaints registered with the SAHRC, highlighting the top five and bottom five rights’ violations reported to the Commission;
complaints per province, highlighting the top five and bottom five rights’ violations reported to each provincial office;
an overview of accepted, rejected and referred complaints and enquiries; and
a profile of complainants (where this information has been recorded) including gender, location, and income.

 The media are invited to the launch and a press briefing of the report at the Commission’s office from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
