Media Invite: SAHRC KwaZulu –Natal Provincial Office will host Advocacy Interventions in the Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will host a public outreach clinic in the Carisbrooke and Hopewell Area (Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality) on the 21st of May and 26th of May 2019.

The interventions are designed to raise awareness on children’s rights and responsibilities, the Commissions Child Friendly Complaints Mechanisms; and to address some of the human rights challenges that were raised by the local war-room i.e. challenges with access to water in the Hopewell area, abuse of older persons (including rape) etc.

The interventions will provide a platform for communities and learners to engage directly with the Commission on matters that affect them and to lodge complaints with the Commission.
