Media Alert: SAHRC to conduct a joint inspection with the City of Tshwane and the Department of water & Sanitation in a bid to resolve drinking water quality issues in Hamaanskraal

The South Africa Human Rights Commission (Gauteng Provincial Office), will attend a sampling session with the City of Tshwane and the Department of Water & Sanitation in Hammanskraal on Thursday, 20 June 2019, in a bid to resolve the drinking water quality issues in the area.

The purpose of the visit is to ascertain whether monitoring points in Hammanskraal meet drinking water quality standards and to gauge progress made by the City of Tshwane in implementing remedial action plans at Temba Water Treatment Plant aimed at ensuring that the water produced at the plant is safe and potable for human consumption.
