Media Advisory: The South African Human Rights Commission to Host a Colloquium on Evictions in Gauteng

On 17 July 2019 the South African Human Rights Commission will host a colloquium on evictions in Gauteng with a view to craft practical and implementable solutions to address unlawful evictions in the province.

This colloquium is designed to provide a platform that will allow all relevant stakeholders and role players to come together in unity to find solutions that will ultimately ensure that evictions comply with all applicable laws and the Constitution in order to protect the rights of land occupiers while also ensuring that South Africa’s vision of meaningful and sustainable land reform is fostered.
