The Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), Adv. Bongani Majola will be conducting a Provincial Visit in the Mpumalanga Province from 19 – 23 August 2019. The purpose of the visit is to assess the status of public health care facilities in the province. This is in line with the Commission’s mandate contained in Section 184(1) (b) of the Constitution, which obliges the Commission to promote the protection of human rights, monitor and assess the observance of human rights in the Republic of South Africa.
As part of his visit in the Province, the Chairperson, will be inspecting a number of health facilities with the view of gauging the status of public health care in the Province.
The Inspections will be followed by a Media briefing on Friday 23 August 2019 at the SAHRC Offices at 34 Brown Street in Mbombela.
