Media Invite: SAHRC Western Cape Provincial Office to host information session on basic human rights

The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”), Western Cape Provincial Office, will be visiting facilities accommodating the elderly in the cape metro district to conduct monitoring of the facilities, this will also include information sessions to amplify basic human rights awareness enshrined in Chapter 2 of the Constitution – the Bill of Rights. The information sessions are centered under the theme “Know Your Rights and Responsibilities”.

The information sessions are intended to educate the elderly on their human rights. Furthermore, the sessions will be used to also educate them on the role and mandate of the Commission especially regarding the promotion and protection of their rights.

These sessions are scheduled to take place as follows:
