Media Advisory: SAHRC KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Office Media Engagement with Independent Media Publications

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will conduct a media engagement with Independent Media publications in Durban.

The purpose of the media engagement is to capacitate editors, news editors and journalist of the different publications on basic human rights, and the role and mandate of institutions supporting constitutional democracy; to develop strategic partnerships with the media and explore challenges facing the media in human rights reporting and coverage and the media’s role in relation to human rights violations.  Furthermore, the engagement will use the platform to address the media on current events and share updates on advocacy interventions, notable investigations and litigation matters.
