Media Advisory: SAHRC KwaZulu-Natal Office will host advocacy interventions in Kwa-Maphumulo, Emadlangeni and Ndwendwe Local Municipalities

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will host public outreach engagements in Kwa- Maphumulo, Emadlangeni and KwaLuthuli on the 22 - 25 of October 2019.

The interventions are designed to raise awareness on children’s rights and responsibilities, and the Commissions Child Friendly Complaints Mechanisms; and to address some of the human rights challenges that were raised by the local organising partners and the war-room i.e. access to socio economic rights: challenges with access to water in Ndwedwe, farm issues, challenges on the right to education, access to health care services etc.

The interventions will provide a platform for communities and learners to engage directly with the Commission on matters that affect them and to lodge complaints with the Commission.
