Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to host an Information Session on the rights of the elderly

The South African Human Rights Commission (“SAHRC”), Mpumalanga Provincial Office, will be conducting an Information Session (“the Session”) on the rights of the elderly.  The information session is centered on the theme: “The Journey to Age Equality.”

The purpose of the Session is to promote the rights of the elderly, especially their right to equality, and to assert the importance of their contribution in their families, communities and society at large. The Session is also aimed at fully acknowledging the elderly and exploring measures needed to address challenges they face in the province. It will also create a platform for the elderly to lodge complaints of violation of their rights enshrined in the Constitution.

The Session is scheduled to take place as follows:

Place:          Naas, Nkomazi Local Municipality
Venue:         Block B Community Hall
