Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to conduct an information session in observation of disability month

The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”), Mpumalanga provincial office (MPO) will be observing the disability month through an information session on the rights of people with disabilities. The observance aims to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of people with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

The session targets parents of children with disabilities, organisations for people with disabilities and community based organisations. People with disabilities remain a largely marginalised group in South Africa. The engagement shall be steered under the theme: “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”.

The information session is scheduled to take place as follows:
