Media Invite: SAHRC, ProBorno.Org, Dept. of Justice and Constitutional Development, and IIE Varsity College will host a public lecture to Commemorate International Human Rights

Attention: Editors and Reporters

Monday, 09 December 2019

The 10th of December marks the commemoration of International Human Rights Day (IHRD). The day is globally observed annually in remembrance of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by United Nations General Assembly on the 10th of December 1948. This proclamation was the first global expression of human rights and is globally recognised as one of the first major achievements of the UN.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being -- regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status, is the most translated document in the world, available in more than 500 languages.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), ProBorno.Org, Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, and IIE Varsity College will host a public lecture to commemorate IHRD under the 2019 theme “Youth Standing Up for Human Rights”.
