The Commission will thus host interventions in KwaNongoma with Informal traders, and relevant stakeholders in order to assess the status/ conditions at the Market, to engage informal traders on the issues raised as well as other challenges. The Commission will also interact with some of the relevant stakeholders with the objective of exploring short term and long-term solutions that can be implemented to address the issues and challenges, and securing commitments from stakeholders.
The Commission will also be conducting monitoring to places of detention, old age homes, and facilities caring for persons with disabilities. The Commission will be monitoring the observance of human rights at these facilities, and compliance with relevant legal prescripts regulating such facilities.
The Commission will further conduct information sessions with the public at the service points, to increase levels of awareness on human rights, and to provide legal advice and create an opportunity for the public to lodge complaints with the Commission.
