Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to conduct a workshop on water and sanitation

Attention: Editors and Reporters
21 December 2020

Over the years, the South African Human Rights Commission in Mpumalanga (“Commission”) has received a number of complaints relating to water and sanitation challenges in Mpumalanga which impact negatively on communities, affect many aspects of their daily living and ultimately pose a serious risk to their health.

The Commission’s Mpumalanga provincial office (MPO) has therefore took a stance to workshop communities on their right to water and sanitation under the theme: “Water and Sanitation for All.”  Water and sanitation is a basic human right which includes health and hygiene promotion, and provision of basic water and sanitation services.

The workshop targets community based and civil society organisations.

The workshop is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date:            23 December 2020
Venue:         Leroro Community Hall, Leroro Village
Time:           10h00 – 13h00
