Attention: Editors and Reporters
29 January 2021

To mark the 25th Anniversary of the SAHRC the Gauteng Provincial Office of the Commission has produced a five part podcast series looking at the work of the Commission.

The second episode covering the promotion mandate of the Commission has now been published and can be accessed, listened to, downloaded and shared here.

In this episode, Legal Officer Zamakhize Mkhize addresses the right to dignity and the way in which the Commission has promoted the Equality Courts.

The South African Human Rights Commission has dealt with a number of complaints of racism in the last years under its mandate to protect and promote human and socio-economic rights of everyone living in South Africa.

In this episode, we discuss the Adam Catzavelos and Angelo Agrizzi cases, and look at how the Commission has promoted and worked in tandem with the Equality Courts to seek and secure justice.

The series is being produced by Elna Schütz with assistance from the Commission’s Advocacy and Research team in Gauteng.
