Media Advisory: Report Launch on the South African Human Rights Commission Inquiry into the Sewage Problem of the Vaal River

The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) will on Wednesday, 17 February 2021 from 09:00 host a virtual media briefing to release the findings of the investigations into the sewage problem of the Vaal River.

The Commission will be discussing the contents of the Report with the Department of Water and Sanitation, SAVE the Vaal, Vaal Environmental Justice Alliance and Professor Tempelhoff, on a webinar from 10:00 to 11:00.

The Commission will also conduct a site inspection of the Sebokeng and Rietspruit Waste Water Treatment Plant in the Emfuleni Local Municipality at 12:00.
