The South African Human Rights Commission intervenes in the dispute between KwaMai-Mai traders and the City of Johannesburg Property Company

On Wednesday, 02 June 2021, the South African Human Rights Commission (“The Commission”) will be meeting with traders at KwaMai-Mai market to hear challenges they are facing. This follows a complaint in which they allege unjust treatment by the City of Johannesburg Property Company.

The Commission’s intervention seeks to mediate a solution that corrects the alleged unjust treatment and to preserve relations between the parties.
