The Commission is pleased to learn that following months of engagements with the Mpumalanga Department of Education, the school was finally closed, along with 3 other private schools that had been operating illegally in the province.

The illegal operation of private schools poses a real threat to the right of access to education enshrined in section 29 of the Constitution. The Commission therefore calls for continued vigilance in communities to ensure that scrupulous operators are not given the space to operate to the detriment of our children.
