Media Advisory: SAHRC calling for Submissions on allegations of racism, lack of diversity and transformation at Cornwall Hill College

Following complaints of racism raised during peaceful protests on Monday, 31 May 2021, the SAHRC initiated an investigation into the environment and pupil’s experiences at Cornwall Hill College.

The investigation shall inquire into, make findings, report on and make recommendations concerning allegations of racism, lack of diversity and transformation at the College, taking into consideration the Constitution and other relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.

Members of the school management, Board of Directors, pupils (former and current), parents, staff, and interested parties are invited to make written submissions to the Commission in order to fully address the issues for investigation. The Commission will receive both written and oral submissions for the purposes of this investigation.

Written submissions must reach the Commission by Friday, 03 September 2021.
