Media Advisory: SAHRC Gauteng Provincial Office to host a dialogue on dignified care for Mental Health Care Users

The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) in partnership with the Health IQ Consulting will be hosting a dialogue on ‘Dignified Rights’ which seeks to raise awareness about the vulnerability of Mental Health Care Users.

The purpose of this dialogue is to bring together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds with the objective to highlight the responsibility of policymakers and health service managers to create mechanisms for the protection of human rights of Mental Health Users. The dialogue will be the first of many conversations led by the Gauteng Provincial Office aimed at raising awareness to the various needs of mental health care users and removing the stigma attached to mental health care.  
The dialogue will take place on 23 September 2021, 10:00-12:30 and will be virtual with all attendees connected via the Microsoft Teams platform
