The key objective of the endeavoured Commemoration is to empower the society on the role the SAHRC play in supporting democracy, to promote a culture of human rights, and creation of a positive and beneficial working relationships of human rights in the province.
The Mandate of the SAHRC will be outlined in relation to its’ Constitutional duties and roles namely:
- promote respect for human rights and a culture of human rights;
- promote the protection, development and attainment of human rights; and
- monitor and access the observance of human rights in the Republic of South Africa.
The SAHRC will further engage the public through the lessons to advance equality, and to eradicate inequalities and to ensure that realization of the right to equality for everyone is created on the premise that more than ever, whole-of-society needs to commit to reducing inequalities by advancing human rights for all.
The Commemoration will take place as follows:
