Media Advisory: SAHRC Western Cape Provincial Office will conduct a capacity building workshop for Human Rights Champions in Langa

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) Western Cape Provincial Office (WCPO) will conduct a capacity-building workshop for Community Development Workers (CDWs) to train them as Human Rights Champions.   The capacity building workshop is aimed at empowering the local stakeholders by heightening awareness about human rights and structures that can help with redress for human rights violations with a specific focus on the role of the SAHRC in promoting, monitoring and protecting human rights.

The capacity-building workshop will enable participants to assist in identifying human rights violations in their communities and to refer same to the SAHRC; to conduct human rights awareness and constitutional education and to conduct human rights monitoring within their communities.
