Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to host a workshop on the rights of the elderly

The Mpumalanga Provincial Office (MPO) will be hosting a workshop on the Bill of Rights, the Older Persons Act and the Protocol to the African Charter on People’s Rights on the Rights of Older Persons (“the Protocol”). Adopted in 2016, the Protocol aims to strengthen regional protection for the rights of older persons, providing an opportune moment for older persons to enjoy their full rights and freedoms on an equal basis with other population groups.

The aim of the workshop is to empower the elderly on their constitutional rights and wellbeing amid COVID-19. The workshop is scheduled to take place as follows:
