Following complaints of racism raised during peaceful protests on Monday, 31 May 2021, the SAHRC initiated an investigation into the environment and pupils’ experiences at Cornwall Hill College.
The investigation shall inquire into, make findings, report on, and make recommendations concerning allegations of racism, lack of diversity, and transformation at the College, taking into consideration the Constitution and other relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
As part of our investigation herein, the Commission will hear oral submissions from interested parties on 22 and 23 March 2022. Members of the school management, Board of Directors, pupils (former and current), parents, staff, and interested parties are invited to make oral submissions to the Commission to fully address the issues for investigation.
Requests to make oral submissions should reach the Commission by 18 March 2022.
