Media Advisory: Engagement on access to sanitary products by menstruating learners within public schools in Mpumalanga

The South African Human Rights Commission in Mpumalanga will be having an engagement on access to sanitary products by menstruating learners within public schools in Mpumalanga.

The purpose of the engagement is to reframe the discourse on access to sanitary products as a human rights issue, with the view to ensuring the development of a coherent and consistent program for the provision of sanitary products to menstruating learners within the public schooling system in Mpumalanga.

The stakeholders invited to be part of the engagement include the Department of Education, the Department of Health, the Department of Social Development, Ehlanzeni District Municipality, the National Association of School Governing Bodies, the Office of the Public Protector, the Commission for Gender Equality, the Public Service Commission, Grip, Childline, and Love Life.

The engagement will take place as follows:
