Media Advisory: SAHRC KZN Provincial Office and the KZN Department of Education to conduct workshops on essay writing, as part of the 2022 National Schools Moot Court Competition (NSMCC)

As part of the 2022 National Schools Moot Court Competition (NSMCC), the SAHRC KZN Provincial Office and the KZN Department of Education are conducting workshops on essay writing. The Workshops have been organised into clusters for mainstream schools and individual workshops for schools admitting learners with disabilities. 

 

The essay writing workshops are intended to provide learners and educators, an opportunity to engage and create a better understanding of the following:

  1. the hypothetical factual case (scenario);
  2. the sources of law that have been prepared, their importance and how to read and interpret them;
  3. how to apply the sources of law to the facts and how to formulate their legal arguments;
  4. how to structure legal essays; and
  5. conscientise participants on the rules of the of NSMCC.
