26 July 2022
In July of every year, South Africa and the world celebrates the life of former President Nelson Mandela, in honour of his birthday on 18 July, which has since been declared Nelson Mandela International Day.
Nelson Mandela International Day provides an opportunity for groups and individuals to heed the call to action in recognition of the power of individuals and small groups to make an imprint and change the world around them.
This year, the South African Human Rights Commission in Mpumalanga (“the Commission”) will be celebrating Mandela’s life with learners at Mthayiza Primary School. The Commission will educate learners on their rights and responsibilities as well as provide indigent female learners with sanitary towels.
The engagement with learners will be conducted under the theme: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”.
The celebration is intended to take place as follows:
Date: 26 July 2022
Venue: Mthayiza Primary School
Time: 11h00 – 12h00
Ends
