Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Office to observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

Attention: Editors and Reporters

28 JULY 2022

The Mpumalanga Provincial Office (MPO) will be commemorating the World Day against Trafficking in Persons targeting community based organisations and other civil society organisations.

There are concerns that Mpumalanga is being used as a gateway for trafficking persons, particularly women and children, from neighbouring countries to other provinces in the country and beyond. The commemoration is aimed at conscientising stakeholders about the scourge of human trafficking as a human rights violation and to call upon them to be vigilant of human trafficking incidents within their municipalities.

The commemoration is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date: 28 July 2022
Venue: Thembelihle Community Hall, Nkomazi Local Municipality
Time: 10h00 - 13h00
Ends
