The South African Human Rights Commission Gauteng provincial office (GPO) will conduct a capacity building workshop for Human Rights Champions/ Monitors (HRC) in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality of Gauteng. This capacity building workshop is aimed at empowering HRC in the province by heightening awareness about human rights and structures that can help with redress for human rights violations with a specific focus on the role of the Chapter Nine Institutions in promoting, monitoring and protecting human rights.
 
The capacity-building workshop will enable participants to assist in identifying human rights violations in their communities and to refer them to the Commission, to conduct human rights awareness and constitutional education and to conduct human rights monitoring within their communities.

The workshop will take place as follows:
