Media Advisory: SAHRC Free State Provincial Office will be conducting a workshop for the Provincial Round of the Schools Moot court Competition

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) Free State provincial office in partnership with the Free State Department of Education, University of the Free State and the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will be conducting a provincial workshop for schools as a preparation for the National Schools Moot Court Competition.

The National Schools Moot Court Competition is an annual competition aimed at creating awareness in South African schools about the constitution of the Republic of South Africa and its values and to afford learners in schools an understanding on how the constitution and the law work.
The National School Moot Court Competition comprises of a theoretical legal assertion, whereby several questions on human rights issues are detailed. The learners have to argue opposing views, based on the theoretical case rendered by using national, regional, international and where relevant, foreign legal instruments to support their contention.

The workshop will be held as follows:
