The SAHRC Free State Office will host an empowerment workshop for Human Rights Champions. The workshop will educate Human Rights Champions on the role they play in promoting democracy, the SAHRC's mandate, protecting the rights of communities, and related legislations.

The workshop will aim to foster a culture of human rights; to foster a deeper understanding of human rights and increase the realization of human rights; will enable participants to assist in identifying human rights abuses within the communities in which they live and work; will enable participants to further conduct human rights and Constitutional awareness campaigns with their communities and develop long-term working relationships with the SAHRC. The workshop will be conducted over two days for two groups of Human Rights Champions.

The human rights champion workshop is scheduled as follows:
