RE: POSTPONEMENT OF THE 20 Year SAHRC Commemorative Gala Dinner and Conference: 26 - 27 October 2015

The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) would like to thank you for your commitment in being part of the 20 Year SAHRC Commemorative celebrations which included a Gala Dinner and National Conference. It is your commitment that has demonstrated the importance of working with different stakeholders to champion human rights in our country.

After much deliberation and advice from various stakeholders; the Commission has taken a decision to postpone the 20 Years SAHRC Commemorative Gala Dinner and Conference to March 2016.  This decision, though difficult, will assist the Commission to commemorate our anniversary during National Human Rights Month 2016.

The Commission hereby extends its appreciation for your support and coveys its sincere apology for the inconvenience caused by our postponement of the 20 Year SAHRC Commemorative celebrations. We anticipate that the Commemorative celebrations will be held in March 2016 and will provide you with further information closer to the time.

Once again the Commission extends its sincere apology for the inconvenience caused.

We trust that you will continue to support our work as we move towards Human Rights March Month 2016.

Yours sincerely

Advocate Mohamed Shafie Ameermia
Acting Chairperson: The South African Human Rights Commission
