Media Advisory: SAHRC to conduct a follow-up meeting with University of South Africa (UNISA) to discuss the complaints received by the Commission and the signing of Memorandum of Agreement between the two institutions

07 February 2023
Attention: Editors and Reporters

On 12 November 2018, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) released the outcomes of the investigation into allegations of racial tension, unfair discrimination, and harassment at UNISA. Following the release of the outcomes of the investigation, the Commission has held engagements with UNISA where policies, outputs and deadlines were discussed.

The Commission is set to have a follow-up engagement with UNISA. The purpose of this engagement is to provide the Commission with progress made in implementing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between UNISA and the SAHRC in December 2018. Furthermore, the discussions will include UNISA-related complaints received by the Commission.
The details of the stakeholder engagement are as follows:

Date: 07 February 2023
