The role of monitoring and assessing human rights and potential human rights violations, provides for an opportunity for the Commission to inspect areas of potential violation and facilitate redress where required.
In addition to its monitoring activities, the Commission aims to popularize its Social Harmony National Effort (SHiNE) Initiative. The aim of SHiNE is to commit every South African to walk a journey towards positive change while creating platforms to interact with each other and to promote change in their homes and communities.
Monitoring activities will include site visits to healthcare facilities, local government service delivery, children rights and a school.
