The KwaNobuhle Community indicated their challenges in accessing and engaging with acting agents on issues affecting their communities. These matters arise from complaints such as compromised quality and access to socio-economic rights, civil and political rights and cultural rights. The focus on these human rights is motivated by the mandate of the Commission, which aims to promote, respect, monitor and protect human rights.
The engagement will be held as follows:
Date: 21st of March 2022
Time: 10H00 – 13H00
Venue: KwaNobuhle Community Hall-Kariega
The engagement will include participants from multiple sectors, including Chapter 9 and 10 Institutions, district and provincial government departments. The invited speakers will engage on their respective mandates and how they promote and protect human rights. An opportunity will be afforded to the invited speakers in order for them to address or respond to questions directed at them from the affected communities. The Commission underscores the importance of safeguarding the rights of communities and emphasizes the need to ensure that rights are respected, promoted and protected.
