    Media Alert: SAHRC in Limpopo provincial office will be training Equality Court officials

    The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) in Limpopo undertakes the training of the clerks of the Equality Courts and court managers in the province on the procedure and operations of the Equality Courts.

    The Commission is mandated in terms of Section 20(1)(f) of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act 4 of 2000 (PEPUDA) to institute proceedings or represent complainants from vulnerable groups at the Equality Courts. The Commission is also mandated, in terms of the policy to work with the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in popularising the objective and operations of the Equality Courts in the country.

    It is the Commission’s view that officials of the Equality Courts play a crucial role in the realization of access and objectives of the Equality Courts in the province.

    The training will be conducted on the 03 - 04 August 2023 at the Park-Inn Hotel, Radisson in Polokwane with focus on PEPUDA as legislation and driving force for the functionality of Equality Courts in South Africa.
