The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) in Gauteng will conduct a capacity-building workshop for Human Rights Champions/ Monitors (HRC) in Daveyton, Benoni. This engagement serves as a follow-up to our previous training of champions which took place in 2022.

Through the human rights champions programme, the SAHRC aims to cultivate long-lasting relationships and networks with community-based organizations that are often the first point of call for community members. The human rights champions workshops empower community-based organizations with tools to identify human rights violations in their communities, report and refer the violations to the Commission, and assist the Commission in conducting various monitoring initiatives in the community.
