Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital is a specialised regional hospital rendering tertiary services in Gauteng.
During the Commission’s visit on 30 September 2022, it emerged that there are maintenance, capacity and infrastructural challenges affecting the hospital. In March 2023, the Office of the Health Ombud released a report entitled Investigation Report into Allegations against Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital following allegations of mismanagement and improper treatment of patients.
The Commission will meet with the management of the hospital to solicit feedback on their progress in implementing the recommendations in the report and the additional issues raised during previous meeting.
