Media Alert: The South African Human Rights Commission, Limpopo Provincial Offices Social Harmony National Effort, and Thursday In Black Community Outreach

Date: 12 October 2023

Attention: Editors and Reporters

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) Limpopo Provincial Office in collaboration with the Thursday in Black Movement undertakes to hold a community outreach activity aimed at introducing and promoting the Social Harmony National Effort (SHiNE) initiative and the advancement of Thursday in Black Movement, which is working towards a world without rape and violence in the Limpopo Province.

The Limpopo Provincial Office (LPO) launched the SHiNE initiative under the theme “Everyone is potentially disabled or old. Being inclusive and considerate of these groups is helping myself” on the 2nd of October 2023.

This outreach aligns with the above theme, and it targets the general community of Solomondale which is ravaged by criminal activities and other social ills that put further strain on challenges faced by older persons and people living. The outreach will also educate communities on the roles they can play in curbing those challenges whilst advancing social cohesion.

The outreach is scheduled as follows:

Date      : 12 October 2023

Venue   : UPCSA – William Mphamba Church Hall in Sebayeng- Solomondale

Time      : 09h00 – 13h00

Ends
