Media Alert: The SAHRC in Limpopo to host dialogue on access to justice for people living with disabilities and elderly persons

Date: 19 October 2023

Attention: Editors and Reporters

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) in Limpopo has undertaken to facilitate a dialogue on access to justice for people living with disabilities and elderly people in the Limpopo province on the 20th of October 2023. The SAHRC has identified stakeholders who may play an important role in advancing access to justice for people living with disabilities and the elderly in the province.

The SAHRC Limpopo provincial office launched the SHiNE initiative under the theme “Everyone is potentially disabled or old. Being inclusive and considerate of these groups is helping myself” on the 2nd of October 2023.
It aims to create awareness of the right to access justice by people living with disabilities and older persons. The challenges faced by people living with disabilities on access to justice may amount to systemic human rights violations. The dialogue also aims at advancing the objectives of the SHiNE initiative.

The dialogue is scheduled as follows:
Date      : 20 October 2023
Venue   : Park Inn By Radisson, Polokwane
Time      : 09h00 – 15h00

Ends
